It's designed to stop thieves from using a brand new key or replacing the ECU in order to start your car and then drive away. Ghost links up to your CAN data network and utilizes the buttons in your vehicle (steering wheel and centre console as well as door panels) to create a unique push sequence which must be entered before the engine can start.

This will activate the anti-hijack function and, once activated any attempt to start the engine will be blocked. When the system determines that the vehicle is no longer moving, it will honk the horn and flash the indicators, if it is unable to find the correct code it will also stall the engine (where possible).
