Both robots excel at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors and they're very adept in getting around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home that aid the i3+ EVO navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. The i3+ does not have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have test. It can be stuck on power cords and socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces, like hardwood and rug.

iRobot recommends clearing areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes clearing out any clutter or toys it might encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filter clear to avoid becoming clogged. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is empty, it returns to its docking station, automatically emptying its debris into the station's external dustbin, and then continues cleaning the area where it began. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of constant use. It takes 3 hours to fully charge.

2. Roomba from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top robot vacuum cleaner model in iRobot's flagship line, and it comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging and self-navigating, but the most significant feature is its self-emptying bin. This removes the need for routine maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, which lets it identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot using the app or via voice.

The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy, though the dust bin is self-emptying which removes a major source of maintenance and cuts down on recurring costs.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning routines, move itself around the room and vacuum an area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. Once connected, to speak commands to the i7+, like "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is a sports car that is amidst a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households however, it can also fit perfectly next to the table for a coffee or the bookshelf, that you can spin around like the magic device.

The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries that produces energy that lasts for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens and expels clean air back into your home. It's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models, such as our top picks, i3+EVO and J7+ Series.
