The i3+ does not have the same obstacle avoidance capabilities as the i7+ or any other top-rated robots we have tested. It could be stuck on power cords and socks, and may have trouble navigating between different surfaces, like carpet and hardwood.

iRobot recommends you clear out areas that the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including putting away any toys or clutter it might encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filters clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is low it goes back to its docking station and automatically emptying its debris into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning the area where it began. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes about three hours to fully charge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and is packed with the latest technology. It's self-charging and self-navigating, but the most important feature is the self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning robot price tasks and control your robot using voice or via the app.

The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. The main advantage it has over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin that eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces the cost of maintenance.

We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning robots session and move around the room and sweep an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward using the iRobot Home app. Once connected, to voice commands to the i7+ for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an all-sports car that is amidst a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful and has features to replace a stand-up vacuum for the majority of households and can fit in well next to a coffee table or on shelves where you can move it around like the magic wand.

The V10 is powered with a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy, which produces power without fading for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system traps allergens and releases clean air back into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets, and then pick up large particles or fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to suit the task at hand. It can quickly change from handheld to floor robot vacuum and vice versa.

This model comes with a dock that can charge the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also gives easy access to 2 attachments and a Wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. As CR's tests show, its claims to run up to 60 minutes are a bit misleading. This is a typical and not a remarkable run time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. This is enough time to sweep the average-sized home however, it's not enough time to get into every corner. (A second time is usually sufficient). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its benefits It's lighter and more agile than older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is noticeably better on low-pile carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a basic robot vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have a lot of money to invest in an expensive robot. It could pick up all kinds of debris and sizes in our tests and would often go over the same area multiple times for a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach the corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and navigate your home. It's not equipped with the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, including our top Rated robot vacuum picks, the i3+EVO and J7+ Series. It can get stuck on phone cords or furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its home base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects, as it has fewer components that require regular maintenance and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in maneuvering itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for most purposes, because it has a longer battery life, has the ability to alter its suction power mode manually and comes with physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It is also more durable, has a more powerful motor, and is able to perform better on bare floors and low-pile carpet, while providing a wider array of features for automation.

In our testing of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86 percent of it. However, it did not do particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested and this could be a deal breaker for some buyers.
