Chicago Urban League Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation provides entrepreneurs from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to start, expand and maintain businesses. Sunshine provides entrepreneurs with financial assistance which can prove to be a significant barrier in starting or growing the business. Sunshine's Business Coaches of Sunshine consult on a one-on-1 basis with entrepreneurs to decide what kind of money is required and develop an action plan. Sunshine also works with an array of financiers, such as Chicago Neighborhood Initiatives (CNI), Byline Bank, CIBC Bank, and Wintrust Community Bank.

Rising Tide Capital's concept serves as the basis for this non-profit's activities. President Obama has acknowledged them for changing lives and revitalizing areas by establishing their Community Business Academy, with 94% of the graduates going on to create new companies and create jobs after graduating from this program.

Sunshine Enterprises also provides support for local entrepreneurs through UChicago Local. INCubatoredu gives students an authentic entrepreneurial experience as they create their own business startup. Every class is assisted by a mentor or coach to guide student teams through the curriculum and support tasks related to washable feet insoles, or social applications; Students have plenty of opportunities to try out their ideas employing lean management principles.

As student teams progress through the curriculum students learn improve and develop their ideas for startups by conducting the exploration of ideas and customers and market research. They also learn about prototyping building and pitching. This process helps develop communication and problem solving skills in addition to teaching students how to quickly change to new circumstances.

Each team competes for funding at the INCubatoredu National Pitch, which occurs every year. The opportunity offers teams invaluable networking opportunities with investors and expert advice from business professionals and is a renowned event for the shark tank-style pitching sessions.
